DACA SUSPENSION UNLAWFUL (11/13/2020)

 

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York granted the plaintiffs’ motion for summary judgment and found that Chad Wolf was not lawfully serving as DHS Acting Secretary under the Homeland Security Act when he issued the July 28, 2020, memorandum suspending DACA following the Supreme Court decision in DHS v. Regents of the University of California. (Batalla Vidal, et al., v. Wolf, et al., 11/14/20)

Plaintiffs estimate there are 1.1 million undocumented immigrants who are prima facie eligible for DACA.

Lawyer Receives John Kiernan Award from Hispanic Affairs Project

Imelda Mulholland was awarded the John Kiernan Award for service to the Hispanic community from the Hispanic Affairs Project of Montrose, Colorado, for providing pro bono legal assistance to low income families over the past several years,

 

Child and Migrant Services and teacher Amy Guitterez also received the John Kiernan Award.  Congratulations to all!
